RAKtivist, defined:
You are a kindness rock star. A random acts of kindness activist. You truly believe that kindness can change the world and you exemplify that in your day-to-day life. The RAKtivist program is a way for us, The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, to recognize your rock star status and connect you with like-minded folks.
Together, we will participate in virtual kindness raids in our own communities as well as social media.
What is a virtual kindness raid?
Good question! At the beginning of each month, we will send you themed weekly kindness missions via email and through our private Facebook group. To demonstrate the power of kindness, we want as many people to complete each weekly mission and share their experience on social media with the hashtag #RAKtivist.
Example: One week, the mission may be, "Write uplifting sticky notes and place them wherever you feel needs them (community, library books, coworker’s computer screens, lockers, etc)." Once you complete the activity, take photos of the process or share a testimonial of how it went/how it made you feel. We’ll share your posts on our social media channels as well.
Imagine what the world would be like if thousands of people became RAKtivists and EVERYONE committed just one act of kindness every month. That is why we need your help. This will start a world movement.
Kindness is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and concern and consideration for others. It is considered a virtue, and is recognized as a value in many cultures and religions.
